What is Civil Engineering and its importance?

  • Among other engineering branches, civil engineering is an important branch because a nation can be termed as developed or underdeveloped through construction and infrastructure. Civil engineering is the oldest engineering branch.
  • It is called ‘Civil’ in English because of its connection with earth, water, or culture and their activities. That is why Civil Engineering is a very important branch and is very essential for the development of the public and the country.

Job opportunities after civil engineering

The biggest question after completing engineering is about getting a job. After completing engineering, there are many job opportunities in front of you, which are:

1) Government Job-

  1. a) As a Junior Engineer JE Class C (minimum educational diploma), you can work in the municipality,

You can also work in Municipal Corporation, Zilla Parishad, Panchayat Samiti, Public Works Department, Water Conservation and Irrigation Department and ST Corporation.

2) Private Jobs- If there are major construction companies like L&T, IRB, B. G. Shrike, Hindustan Contractions etc., you can also work there on a good basis.

3) Self-employment: If you don’t want to work, the best option is to get your own construction license and do government and private work, or take on private construction through your own consultancy.
